Default Flowmaster 40 or 50? (3.9)

I am going to be getitng one of the flowmaster exhaust systems but i am not decided on which one to get. I have the V6 3.9. I am looking for a nice deep sound..somewhat like that of a v8 ( i know i'll never get it ) and im looking for loud but not over the edge loud. I also dont want it to start sounding like a ricer when i step on it. Which one to get? and why? Thanks alot

Go with a super 40 single in single out with a good tip. Longer tip=less rasp. Dual out will decrease the over all deepness of the tone and increase the pissed off bumble bee sound.

I had a 2003 SXT V6 Dakota with a "Standard 40 Series" and now have a 2004 SLT V8 Dakota with a "Standard 40 Series" and hands down the 40 gives better perf. and sound can't be beat....the "Standard 50 Series" has 3 chambers and the "Standard 40 Series" has 2 chambers, either would be a good choice for the Dakota it just depends on how loud you want your truck for the most part low and mellow (50) vs. deep and aggressive(40).

does the 40 start sounding like a ricer in the higher RPMs though? will the overall sound of a 50 be better?

I have two Delta Flow 50 series mufflers on my 06 Dakota. Granted I have a v8 and a different engine, the 50 series makes a low mellow growl, but when you get on it, you can definitly tell there is some power behind the pretty looks.

I say get the 50 series. Are you going dual exit exhaust or single exit?

Well I just drove my friends truck for a day and he has exhaust on it, (no idea what kind) but it was unreal, I loved the sound and it was hard to keep my foot off the gas. I really wanna get one for my truck (3.9 dak) and I would probably get flowmaster super 40 (or maybe a 50). My only concern is high way driving, I will be living 6 hours from home in september and I will be making trips home every few weeks. Right now my engine is real quiet on the high way. Will new exhaust be anoyying and **** me off when im cruising?
