i'm just over 41000 miles on my 2003 3.9 with a 4 speed automatic. empty weight at around 4240 pounds. around town i almost always get less than 16 mpg--lots of stop-n-go short trips. highway mpg depends more on what cruising rpm i keep it at. i've squeezed 22 mpg @70mph keeping the rpms below 2000, with a payload of 1500 pounds. my last road trip to san diego i got 21mpg with full blast a/c also @70mph, but no cargo. cruising at 85mph with rpms @2500 i get 18mpg. i'm going fairly slow, i rarely pass others on the freeway.

just have a 180 thermostat, v8 throttlebody, upgraded air intake and superchips 3715 done to my v6.

 

On my '99 R/T, I was getting 12-14 mpg around town and 15-17 on the highway cruising at 75 mph. Did get 18 mpg on a long trip. With my Hemi Magnum, I'm getting 17-18 in the city and 22-23.7 on the highway.

 

someone said they had a v8 throttle body on their v6, did that give you much improvement? i just added a flowmaster 40 on mine and i love it, but want to know another cheap mod. to help gas milage and/or hp.

I do wonder what differance it made, both in power and efficency. Certainly seems like something I would consider. (Ah, hell, I need to get my A/C fixed first [:@])
