I don't have any experience with them but you just buy k&n's cleaniing kit for $10 and I guess just go to town. It looks like you would just have to do it on a day you don't need to go out and let it dry for a little while I'll check the k&n site for the details. You have the 5.9 right? Oh and your friend was propably talking about the cone filter and the entire intake setup which is in the range of around $240.

This is the CAI setup http://www.stylinconcepts.com/part.a.../categoryid/28
This was a pain to find I had to go to 3 sites before it popped up http://www.car-stuff.com/performance...me=5&category=
And this is overpriced but you get the idea (It is $9.95 everywhere else I have seen it) http://www.car-stuff.com/performance...=488&category=

the k&ns are easey to clean. just take it out: knock all big debry loose. spray w/ cleaner. let sit. rinse off w/ tap water. repeat untill no longer pink. let dry. oil evenly. put back in truck. takes about 5 minutes not counting sitting time. its well worth it, and they flow very well toooo.

well i thought they were a lot more than that. 40 bucks is like a major relief i think i might just go ahead and drop one of them in looks like you cant rely on ur friends oppinions on how much stuff costs lol but hey how hard are they to clean i heard something about an oil treatment and whatnot?

Dodge the k&n drop in is only like 40ish or so right? I would say make that the big tickect item in your intake. It's good for the rest of the life of the truck it just needs to be cleaned every 10k miles or so.

Well boys and girls the results are in. I have been driving faster than I was before the intake and just filled up today. I am at 11.95 mpg. That is 1.92 more mpg than I was getting before. YAY! If I keep my foot out of it and get a k&n drop in I could propably squeeze another 1 mpg maybe. HAPPY DAY WOOHOO!

Ok guys i got some really nasty heavy rain today and was driving on the freeway with a lot of traffic I just thought I should say make your intake able to be disconnected. I never died but with all the spray from the other cars my filter got a little wet and I could feel it in the throttle. Not a big deal but I imagine the filter could start falling apart after being exposed to this many times. If you are not driving at high speeds it won't matter, just when you get that mist everywhere.

i just had my real first highway test this weekend, and the diff in acceleration was huge with the new cai. a little touch on the gas and i'd pass(fly by) people with ease. with the v6 it would max out at around 100-108mph(depending on wind speed and road grade) before it totaly ran out of breath, but now i wouldn't doubt if it'll do 115-120mph. drove in rain today at low speeds and didn't have a problem. i would deff disconnect it in a heavey rain at high speed though. can't wait to see how it preforms when i can add an exhaust and tb.
