Default Qesuton on the 4.7 liter automatic tranny

Hey guys im looking at upgrading to a 4.7liter extended cab trucks well taken care of but im concenerd about the tranny it seems fine as of now but i hear they fail baddly in the dakotas. its a 2000 extended cab 4x4 with 98k miles on her. I dotn no if this problem carrys over into the 4.7 as they use a diffrent automatic tranny then the 5.9 and 5.2. thanck you for your input.

In general I would shy away from any truck with that many miles on it unless you want to replace the engine and tranny.....if dependablity is the issue go for as low miles as you can find and afford.

I have a 99 dakota. its not a 4.7 but my truck has 197,000km on it and the engine and tranny is fine it doesnt burn oil or clunk at all. maybe the 4.7 are different, but millage doesnt matter that much if you take care of it. I've seen some dakota's with 400k+ and still run fine.
