I have a 2003 5.9 2wd that will not be running premium fuel. Anyone with any experience on either of these please vote! I have heard it said that Hypertech is for GM and Superchips is for Dodge etc. Then I heard that Hypertech is better for this particular engine. I also heard that Hypertech's regular fuel tuning is better and that Superchips' is barely noticeable. I'm ready to buy one, i just can't make up my mind. As always, opinions are welcome. Thanks everyone.

I voted Hypertech only becuase i use it. I know hypertech allows you to either use 89 or 93. Nothing lower. So your going to have to use either of those. 89 if you dont want premium, but thats still mid. Also just to let you know we gained rights to a new fuel supply in alaska so by december premium will be close to 2.50 (in texas) i have no idea on the other places or where you live. They say it could even drop to about 2.35.. i saw it today for 2.77 at a shell (for premium that is)

If thats why your not going to use premium, i just thought i would let you know that.

As for the superchip i have never used one, so i dont know much, but ive HERD they give you a little bot more options then the hypertech. I was actually going to buy a superchip also and run them both and see witch one is better and sell the one that i didnt need, but im low on dough right now. so that wont be happening anytime soon.

Wow user that is "cheap" comparatively speaking I'm using 89 and it is 3.30 right now I think 93 is like 3.60 here. I can't wait till we tap the rockies I have heard we have a reserve that is economically and environmentally feasible if oil stays above $55 a barrel. It is supposed to be 8x larger than saudi oil. Damn hippies keeping us out so far.

Those hypertech III'3 are spendy though and yes 16 year old drivers have done dumb things because they don't know their limits yet. It is inexperience + an invincible attitude. Let me just tell you how I learned to drive and what helped me out a lot was the Gran Turismo games. They gave me a lot of insight into the physics of driving. I have always learned from my mistakes and most of them were when I was still a kid like not checking my blind spots. All it took was me trying to switch lanes when someone was in my blind spot and getting honked at, ever since then I have always looked over my shoulder not just checked my mirrors.

welll........ i lived in AR recently and u get ur perment at 14... i've always been wanting to drive forever and loved dodges n cars, so I always wanted to drive, just try driving with a really tense Mom that yells at u about everything and reminds, u, screams when theres another car in the other lane "thinking" im getting over, lol after checking everwhere(tons of blind spots in that van) i'd start to get over and shed yell! jarrel! did u check, check atleast 4-10 times.. all the time.. it was annoying.. but heck I guess it worked...
all that in a 99Dodge high top conversion van, pluss, I drove across 3 states non stop a few times in the conv van a few times before I got my liscence....

but that was all automatic, I just bought this Dakota and only driven a 5speed 3-5 times before, and i've been driving it everywhere, stick shift is fun!!)

lol my friend got me into aftermarket and mods, so one day we put a Airbreather/circle air intake or w/e from autozone on it and it quickly ate the CAI, gave it a nice tone though(It had the 318.. sorry no 360..)

I love working on vehicles

Yeah I remember driving with my mom, it sucked [:'(] she was always so tense which made me nervous and the funny thing about that was I was not nervous to drive at all I had been driving a lot more than she knew before I even got my permit LOL.
