Double din head unit?
1 'din' is the size of a normal radio (like most aftermarket ones). double din is a HUGE opening that looks like you could put 2 radios on top of eachother in teh dash
If I remember, 1 din is a 2" tall 7" wide opening.

Ya most cars have din and a half. My moms eclipse has a double din. Dodges, Fords, ect blah blah have din +1/2.
And im curios to Mean Green, what are you putting in it? Why not just get a single din aftermarket radio and install that? Atleast they make dash kits for your truck that just pop right in with no cutting or jamming into place.

I understand what double "din" means but what do the letters stand for? also why in the world do you need space for two radios? are you trying to make something up where you can let your Girlfriend listen to her crappy music with headphones on her own radio while you listen to your good stuff on your own radio? What exactly are you trying to do that requires double din? If your trying to do the girlfriends music thing I'll tell you what I did to get rid of that. I installed a headlight dimmer switch on the floorboard up by the fire wall of my jeep and when I got tired of listening to her crappy cd for the infinitey-ith time I would hit the dimmer switch and "for some odd reason the radio wouldn't play her music I could fix it by playing my own music". hahahahahaha I'm such as a$$ but I am so glad I dumped her which solved my problem all together in the long run.

din is some euro standard or something. Most the double dins were radios that had built in eq's, cd AND cassette and a bunch of other features like large buttons.
