I cant afford to do both so my question is which would be the better bang for my buck. 1.7 rockers or e-fans? I have a 2003 5.9. I will not be changing the cam. thanks

The roller rockers with a 1.7 ratio will open the valves more, sort of like putting in a cam with bigger lift. The fact that they are roller tip will also reduce drag and friction, which equals more power.

 

1.7 rockers will make a difference in any motor (running smaller than that) the only thing is the power gain will be smaller than a larger motor. i dont know if they make the 1.7's for the 3.9, but if they do, i think you have to make alterations to your valve covers. im not sure, you will want to do a search in the forum to check it out.

 

yeah they do make them for the 3.9 idk if you have to do any other work or not but they do make them for it. i just didn't know if it would be worth it or not.....

 

You don't list your mods, if you have any?!?!?! but I would start with the basics, CAI and cat-back if you haven't already. The roller rockers will make a difference but its going to take a combination of parts to make a big difference.

 

ya, they do have to be modded for your stock valve cover, BUT, I found a site called SoCalDakota.com, tons of Mopar performance for all the Mopar Engines on that site, but they make Powder Coated Valve covers for the 3.9 that is made for aftermarket Rockers.

I'd go Rockers, but what performance you have? atleast high flow exhaust, air and that sorts of stuff?

 

well i haven't really done any engine mods. only visual things. i didn't know if i should even do anything to a v6. the only engine mod i have done is a cat back. would yall suggest cutting the cat off?? a friend of mine did that to his 2001 ranger and it runs and sounds awesome. what do yall think?

how much would rocker arms increase power if i had a CAI and the new exhaust??
