Is the abs working? Sounds like perhaps that speed sensor that you keep hearing about has fried, but maybe that's just a ram thing? Speed sensor on the rear diff.

I've heard about the same thing on the D's so I'm guessing go with what horatio is saying. Also just try to clean up the sensor apparently it can get gunked up and maybe that's all it is...

It's the sensor on top of your rear differential, I'm on my third one in 60k miles. Be sure you get the right one, apparently Mopar has more than one type depending on year, ABS etc.

Mine came on about a hundred miles before the rear brake line blew apart, the rubber one. Not sure if the two are related.

Replaced the sensor in the rear end. It took 15 minutes part was 37.50. Sure feels good not to have the light on anymore. Thanks for helping me out.

hey 99 ram, did you take the time to check the condition of your lines while you were back there? as shown by fyrfyghtr, you never know when they will go.

yeah it's the rear diff sensor. you cant clean it as it's a hall effect sensor meaning it's magnetic in nature

when they go bad, you cant revive them with a cleaning.
