They do cost a bit more but you do know Flowmaster makes a "Stainless Steel" version of their mufflers for places that rust is an issue?

i think im going with the flowmaster 40 series. I live in maine and rust is an issue. It took me a month just to sand and paint all the rust off my truck.

using a high temp BBQ paint would at least help the situation. sand down any existing spots and hit it witht he high temp BBQ paint.

lol, flomaster 40 rules...and sounds awesome. So some kid said that my truck sounds bad, and I have the FM40. He drives a volkswagon. He prolly is one of those who like the crappy vibrating sound. funny eh?

There are several different flowmasters to choose from. I had a 70 series big block muffler on my 99 Grand with the 4.7 - it was about on par with the 98 5.9 limited in sound. Understated and quiet, but still a powerful rumble. The 40 series is the loudest street muffler they have. I've got 2 in my 5.0. I've got a 30 series in my ram, it's not as loud as the 40. You might try that, although I'm not sure what it would sound like on a 6
