this muffler seems to be a good choice... have a look

http://www.aeroexhaust.

I have one for my ram i'm going to put on next weekend. straight thru design with a secondary exhaust flow path, it's supposed to help low end but flow well.

i dont think it really has much effect unless you have a new intake to go with it.

Anyway I have a flowmaster 40, and it sounds awesome! I must warn you tho, those mufflers rust pretty fast.

it will affect mileag but to a lesser extent... it does depend on your overall setup... I was just curious if the muffler alone did anything for your mileage.

A while back when I first got mine it didn't do a damn thing. That might have been my fault though because I couldn't keep my foot out of it.

it is tough with a better performing ride isnt it? when you have extra umph, you just naturally want to use it.

When I put my Hypertech on I got 1.7 mpg worse right off the bat, I couldn't help it. But to stick to the topic; a good flowing exhaust, even if it hurts low HP/Tq can still be beneficial for MPG. I wrote this once before on here, but I had an A4 and ripped the exhaust right off after the cat while offroading and I got 95 miles more on my tank while driving between 85-95 mph.
