you should just wire it to the coil. so then you don't get anyspark. thats what I did on my 88 dakota and nobody ever stole it. I always left the keys in it too. they took my stereo once but thats all they could get.

I wired my kill switch to interrupt the starter. I needed something after some POS stole my truck earlier this year.

I did this on an old chevy I had... there was a jumper put in the wiring harness for a clutch switch (mine was an auto). yanked the jumper and put in a heavy duty switch wiried so it was near my left leg below the seat. push the button, turn the key. it was hard to find unless you knew it was there.

Glad I found this topic! A family member's van was swiped from a crowded mall parking lot in broad daylight recently.

Don't want my Dakota to be next!

Anyone have any additional $0.02 to add?

My truck came with a alarm system called the silencer that was put in at the dealer and wired into the ctm. It can sence when the door has been opened if it isn't disarmed it kills the ignition system then after 30 seconds it sounds the horn and flashes the light

I wired mine using the starter. I used a momentary switch on mine just below my left leg on the seat frame. Some pos went a tore apart the ignition trying to get it going haha...
