New Body Kit
Have you guys seen the new Body Kit being offered by John Mercedes ? Its based off of the Stampede kit, and its been brought up on dakota-durango.com, but I havent seen any threads for it here. Theres also been a debate about the price, its not a cheaply made kit, its high quality, so its a bit pricey. Its made out of fiberglass, and it comes with all side skirts and even a roll pan. The bumper cover was not created because so many people out there already have bumper covers, its a way to promote individuality, however, I believe one is being released at a later date.
See what you think.

i like it it reminds me of the sniper kit kinda.
But i do really like that, i planed on getting a sniper kit... but... now since ive seen this? you said 1 (one) (uno) is being released on a later date. Is this kit going to be hard to get ahold of?
also in those pics with the dakota R/T has that truck been dropped? If so how much of a drop, if you know? Becuase ive been worried about putting a kit on mine and dropping it 2' i dont want it to be TO low to the ground where it looks "mexican" i want it to look good.

No this kit wont be hard to get ahold of. Its been molded off of the Dodge Stampede kit that was released on later model dakotas before they were discontinued. I actually helped develop these.
I was actually referring to the front bumper cover being released at a later date. Until then, you could choose from the street scene, stillen, shelby, xenon, sniper, brown design, east coast customs, wings west, and a couple other bumper covers.
As far as the drop, im not sure about the red one, but the most popular drop everyone puts on the dakota is the Hotchkis 2/3 drop, 2" up front (1" on R/T models), and 3" in the rear (2" on R/T models). This is also a performance handling kit, not just a drop.
If you need any more info, or youd like to actually purchase the kit, email John Mercedes. His e mail is john.southeastrt@verizon.net Just tell him Wayne Hebb sent you.

This kit is designed for dakotas of the years 97-04. Its made for regular cabs as well as extended cabs. Come one come all.
The red one features the regular cab kit, but I have attached photos of the extended cab version, so that you can see its virtually the same thing, only a bit longer. The photos below are also from the actual Stampede kit, on a Stock R/T. It doesnt have the rear roll pan on it, or the pieces that flow under the rear of the bed. It also has the front bumper cover that comes with the stampede kit stock... take a look, it at least gives u an idea.

Ya know, I wish someone did make something for the Quad cab that was actually decent looking. The best thing I have seen for it was the running board / ground effects kit from Dodge. Cervinis made a prototype body kit for the Quad cab, but it never was produced. I have attached photos of the Dodge kit (the black Quad cab), and the Cervinis kit (blue Quad cab). The only other thing I know is out is some rediculous kit called the Blaze body kit... its so stupid, its retarded looking...
The problem with quad cabs is the demand. Usually most people with quad cabs dont want the body kit, they want it for more practical use, or for hauling friends around, so they go with nerf bars, or running boards.
