Just Joined The Club, Any Suggestion?
I just bought my first truck yesterday and so far I am completely in love!!! I have been driving a '95 Sunfire for 6 years and I finally bucked up and bought a '99 Dakota Sport 4x4, 5spd. V8 and I coudn't be happier. I guess my olny concern about driving a truck is the gas mileage since I have been getting such great economy from my car for the last 6 years. I have read some posts but I would like to know what kinds of things I could do to get the best out of this truck as far as mileage goes. I am a student so I don't have a ton of cash floating around, but come summer I will have more to play with. Thanks...
Now that you have a perm smile stuck on your face....welcome to Dodge Forum......seems the most common upgrade for fuel and performance is cold air intake K&N or Airaid are the most popular, and exhaust most go with the Flowmaster 40 series.
welcome to the site.
I would go with a cold air intake and a magnaflow exhaust. alot of people over look magnaflow but IMO, I think it sounds better.

I had a set of flow pro's on my 82 dodge ram with a 360, and it was way too quiet. so I put a set of flowmaster 40's on it and woke up the whole town.
flow pro's are supposed to be like an immitation flowmaster.

Yeah, I've got a flow pro on my dak and it's too quiet. Plus at WOT it just sounds like a louder version of stock - rushing air.

I know you have a bigger engine and you dumped your exhaust, but I think we would probly be about the same. I get compliments about mine all the time.my friend has a durango with a 360 and a magnaflow exhaust and its almost as loud as mine. but hers is just a deeper note.
