I was just wondering what spark plugs will workthe bestinmy 2000 3.9L V6 automatic dakota. I was lookin at buying some Bosch Platinum +4 plugs, but i believe the previous post said that they didn't really help much. So now im jsut wondering what is the best plugs i can buy for the truck, performance wise, gas milage wise, and anything else wise.

I have ngk v-power in mine and I'm happy with them

 

i just installed some Bosch Plantium +4 Plugs /w 8.5mm MSD Wires and i noticed a better idle, and better throttle response, but i lost about 1mpg was getting 14mpg now i get about 12.7-13.2 highway.

But they do work very good, the other ones to go with are irudium or w/e you call them, i had a choice, between the 2 i want with bosch.. so far so good ive been running them now for about 1 month, no problems and no backfires.. and no misfires.

Bosh +4 are ****. Iridiums are the way to go.

platinum = long life
copper = more power
iridium = best of both worlds, but expensive.

I'd rather replace my plugs every 15k though and check the condition while I'm doing other routine maint.

I just bought some NGK V-power plugs in heat range 7, which is 1 colder than stock. I'm throwing those in with a 180 t-stat to see if it'll eliminate the pinging I get. Within the next 15k miles though I'm probably going to replace the intake manifold and camshaft when I do the water pump and timing chain.
