Default Rear end

New to forum and new to Dodge altogether.
Currently have 2000 Sport QC 4wd I seem to have a strange noise from the rear end whn going slow and making hard turns. It almost seems
like the rear is stuck in posi all the time. It seems to bind and the noise sounds like it comes from the tires biting into the pavement. It's kinda fun and all if you want to do donuts on the pavement or climb hills off road in 2wd but it just don't sound good at all. I did a search and found a post where someone mentioned a posi trac rear with broken clutch plates(i think). Anyone got some help? How can i tell which rear i have?
And is this something able to tackle easily on my own. I don't normally have a problem fixing much of anything as long as I can get in the right direction

Take a look inside your glove box, inside mine (03 QC) there is a sticker which lists the major component codes for the truck. it includes the rearend. should say limited slip or LSD or LS if it is a pozy unit.

having low/old fluid in your diff will make a noise very similar to what your describing.

I would try and change your rearend fluid and see if the noise goes away. but dont forget to but the limited slip additive for the dealer.

Thanks now thats a start, Although first thing I did was check the fluid level and it was fine it looked ok also from what I can tell. Truck only has 50,000 miles. This limited slip additive... Can it be found anywhere else beside dealer?
