RE: blower motor
Along the same topic, my blower fan in my 00 operates at all speeds, butthe volume of air is much less than normal. At the lowest setting the air coming from the vents is there, but just barely. At the highest speed, the air comes out at what I would call medium. The air is coming out of the proper vents, in other words, not being mixed with other vents making it appear that the air volume is reduced. I did not see this previously discussed (other than the blower not working at all at various speeds - mine does, but air volume is low) and I apologize if it was. I am leaning toward blower fan bearings going bad as opposed to a resistor problem. I would appreciate if anyone has an opinion/experience. Thanks!

RE: blower motor
yeah i just did the one in my moms 02 durango the resistor is definetly your problem, yes it is like $12-$15 at your local stealership and it is simple to replace it is held into the air vent under the glove box on the passenger side, you just about have to stand on your head see it, but its the only thing under there with a wire on it, take the wire off, unscrew the 2 screws take the old one out, put the new one in place, screw it back in, plug it in and go, your done and your fans work once again. good luck

RE: blower motor
I just changed my resistor. It was $11.93 with tax at the dealer. The biggest pain I had was trying to get the screws inbefore all the blood rushed to my head. The guy at the dealer said the problem is leaving the HVAC on when turning your engine on and off. The power surges wear on the resistor over time. His advice was always turn off the HVAC before shutting your vehicle off.
