A great, (prob one of the best) electric-fans you can get new or used is a '94-'96 Mark VIII fan.
It moves over 5400 CFM. New, they are around 100 bucks. I've picked them up at the bone-yard for
as little as 12 dollars. I run this fan on my S-Trim '91 Mustang GT. (This car has almost no open surface
area in the front) and it keeps the car cool on 95 degree days at 16 lbs of boost or idling along in traffic with the
air on. Dynoed, it picked up 6 hp over the stock clutch fan set up.
You need need to trim off the 4 mounting ears on it. that's it. It's mounted in it's own shroud.
Be-cool has a decent fan controler you can use but, with such a larger open surface area in the
front of our Dakotas all you really need is a toggle switch & a relay. (use a relay do to the fact this
fan has such a great surge-draw upon start up).
Just remember, more CFM is better when it comes to electric fans. You will free up about 4 to 8 hp by doing this swap.
Maybe a little more depending on how much drag it puts on our motors.

They're fine for on-road, just keep tabs on your temp gauge in case the fan fails. They're not so great if you go off road and you like mud.

No mud for me,
maybe my next truck...
