How do you avoid the heater core going bad, my truck is a 2004 and has 30k miles on it if I do a flush and change the coolent every year will this prolong the core going bad ?

Iwill have to try that next week .(going away this weekend) and i will keep you informed. If that doesnt fix it will be buying a new heater core. has anyone checked on how much one costs?
I have a brand new heater core just sitting at my house. I will sell it to you cheap. PM me if interested.

If the heater core goes bad, it is most likely due to corrosion from the inside out. You can avoid this by using mineral free water. Where have you been lil? Long time no see.
