remote start/keyless
I'm going to install a Bull Dog Deluxe22I in my 98 Dakota. The questions are
1-Can I wire the 5 wire harness from the remote start into the factory keyless entry?
2- If not, Does the connection for the keyless go in the door (remove door panel and splice ) or can it be done behind the kick panel?

I've personally done the exact job you're attempting, man. It's pretty easy once you locate the neccesary wires. To answer your questions in the order you asked them, Yes, you can hook into the factory wiring to do that no problem and 2, yes, youy can do the splicing behind the kick panel, just leave yourself enough wire to fix any mistakes you might make and to hide you connections away from any possible pinch points, trust me, lol. Hope that helps you. Also, hooking into the factory wiring will only work if the truck had keyless entry and power door locks from the factory.
Thanks for the info, but I guess my question is can I wire it into the factory wiring for the keyless entry, and where are mthese wires and what are they color coded?
You grab the lock wires in the kick panel. Lock is supposed to be a straight + trigger on keyless equiped vehiclesinto either the orange/purple wire or green/black wire in the kick. Unlock requires 5-wiring the pink/purple wire in the kick. As you can see I said "supposed" to be a straight positive trigger for lock. In my experiences you must 5-wire BOTH lock and unlock. A straight + trigger never seems to work. Same case on Rams. [:'(]

Yeahhis truck does not have a 1-wire setup like the newer ones. And that diagram is correct for unlock, but he will need to do the same for lock. Like I said. It MAY work by simply pulsing it with a + trigger, but I doubt it. I've never been that lucky.
