yea i backed the hole with a peice of wire mesh and then put the bondo over that to fill it in and form the shape of the bumper, probably next weekend ill sand it down, prime it and then sand the rest of the rust on the bumper from the other 2 dents that were in it and paint he entire bumper black so that it will look good again, but this hole was all the way through and it was pretty big unforunately

you spoil your truck Jonny mine has not been driven in snow at all because we just got it in november, and i dont have my license yet(just my permit)so idk how it will do in the snow, but it gives me plenty of time to make it look and run really good so that when i start driving it there will be no problems. but i suspect that the guy who owned this truck before me just left it outside and didnt take care of it bc my dads 96 had no rust on it at all in 03 when he got rid of it so yea just how u take care of it i guess

I had two holes rusted in my bumper that had patched before. It was patched with JB Weld. Which is pretty good stuff, but over time the JB Weld rusted out so I bought a new bumber, that set me back about $250 or so.

yea i was thinking about that, and if i ever back into anything and nock out the bondo patch or damage the bumper in any other way i think that i will replace it, but i would try a junk yard first to see if they have anything good because i cant afford $250 for a bumper and a junk yard should be cheaper but i will see tomorrow how this repair worked and hopefully sand it smooth with the rest of the bumper and then all i will need to do is paint it because that was the only spot which was rusted through

I'll tell you what... you by me a roll pan, and I'll give you my bumper

I would love to have a roll pan, but I use my truck as a truck too much. and then I would have to get a different hitch too.

but ya, I would always go to a junkard first and see what you can find

When I got my bumber I sanded it down, then sprayed the inside of it with undercoating. The undercoating is still on there and it has had everything on it from mud, gravel, rain, and snow with salt. Once you fix your bumper I would recommend doing the same. I went to junkyards all over the Kansas City area and found some bumpers, but they were beat up or rusted the same. I'm not saying you won't find one, but good luck finding one without fixable rust, dents, or not wrecked.

hmm..i just checked on the forum's paint codes FAQ thread. Apparently PR4 means Flame Red, and I think I saw that one in autozone. So is it Poppy Red or Flame Red? Cuz on the scratch tube it said poppy red.

Well...I'm finally getting some work done. Letting the primer finish right now. I'll post later on the final color coat.
