Have you checked to make sure your tranny fluid is at the correct level?

RE: shift problem
Actually i just had a similar problem on my way to school today. When I went to start up the ol girl this very coldmorning, she kinda whinned and let out a "You want me to do what?" she cranked about a second longer than normal, usually starts right away, but nothin alarming to me because of the cold temperatures we got last night. But when i started heading down the road, overdrive never kicked in, so i thought ok maybe it's still to cold, ill let her warm up. When i got to a major road i put the throttle down a bit more and let er rip, but still no overdrive. so after about 5minsi pulled off on a side road and stopped completely, then took off hoping that overdrive would kick in but a gain same thing. so i pulled over one more time, shut her down and fired her back up. Now I suddenly have overdrive again... any ideas as to why this happened? Should I be alarmed? I just checked the fluid about 4 days ok so it should still be ok...

RE: shift problem
Ive been researching this problem, for about 10 months now.
Ive had people tell me links, bad tranny, liquid, flush, ect, blah blah blah...
But i found the anwser...
these 3 things WILL fix your problem.
1. Replace your Govenor Pressure Sensor and Soloniod.
2. Adjust your rear bands
3. Adjust your T.V Cable
Thiswill fix your problerm..
The GPS and Soloniod are about 50$ each ob ebay.
T.V cable fix is free
Band adjustmants is free, but you have to drop the pan so you will need new gaskets and fluid...

RE: shift problem
I have something similar that happens but I will try and adjust the band a bit more first, also does anyone have a problem with a loud ratteling noise when at higher rpm's? It happens only sometimes, I think it is just the exhaust thought but wanted to verify. Once I get over 3-4 thousand it starts to make a rattling/grinding type noise, it's not grinding because well it does it all the time and still runs.. But Would an exhaust leak before the y-pipe cause this?
