RE: WAX TIME!!! ***UPDATE*** BUFFER IDEAS
Beware of over waxing your car! Especially if you have a factory paint job. All wax's are abrasive and take some of the clear coad off the car. If you ever notice paint coming off on your cloth then you should think about getting some more clear sprayed on your car.
As for the buffer, use your hands unless you are trying to get swirls out. Buffers will take too much clear coat off for just a regular wax. But if you want to buy one spend the extra money on a good one with multiple speeds.

Here's what I use and it seems to work real well,..
With my black truck I use Turtle-wax color wax. (Black).
Don't get it on your hands! It will be tough to get it off!!
Also, whatever you use to apply the wax, it will be good
for nothing but throwing it away afterwards.
It hides minor scratches 7 swirls fairly good.
But, it doesn't last if used alone. So, I wax twice,..
Once with the color wax then, I use Meguiers On top of that.
Meguiers lasts a good long time & locks your color-wax in.
Yeah I know, hard enough waxing once but, to do it twice can
be a pain. The results are outstanding.

RE: WAX TIME!!! ***UPDATE*** BUFFER IDEAS
blocking it is when you take a clay bar and strip all the wax off of it. then it takes it right down to the paint. it took a whole day to do, but it was worth it.
and I'm thinkin on driving the truck next winter, so well see how that goes
cause once I put a 318 in the 88, she will no longer be the winter beater.
