I was going to do it exactly like that describes, but I didn't think you could press the button while the truck is actually cranking. I thought it would only work before or after crank (not sure why I thought that). Probably because a lot of things drop out while cranking. but if that works then by all means do it that way. The diagram above would work exactly the same, just hook the "ignition" wire to the starter wire instead, and you won't need the capacitor or resistor.

Good find!

if you could please excuse my ignorance i dont understand why you would want to disable od every time youdrive,i mean its there to save gas, unless ur towing a trailer, then it makes sense, but not under normal driving could someone explainthis to me

doesn't necessarily, but it will try to use od which is useless at low speeds and it causes allot of UN nessary shifting...

Exactly. The trans will ALWAYS try to shift to the highest possible gear. So even at in-town speeds, it will shift into O/D, which is useless, and everytime you go a little faster, or accelerate quickly, it needs to shift back out, then back in, then out, then in, ect. So everytime you reduce the amount of shifts the trans makes, it will prolong it's life.Staying out of O/D, the trans will stay in 3rd nearly the entire time, until you come to a stop, orWOT for some reason. It also locks the torque converter when you're out of O/D. That and it makes your exhaust soundbetter too. lol

So the real question is... Why WOULDNT you do this?
