Default paint streak removal

I've had streaks on my hood since summer, no idea what caused it. looks like sombody poured something on my truck.
The paint itself is OK but it looks like there's a residue. I've washed the truck dozens of times with no avail.
Anybody have any ideas on how to get this crap off?

i'll see about pics soon, I don't know how well they'll photograph.

Did you try to clay bar it yet? That should work to get it off.

try waxing or buffing it. You could just buff it, but you might as well wax it at the same time, when you buff out the wax that should take care of it. If not do as Casper said and use a clay bar. Iv'e never used one, I'm not that detail oriented, everything is a work truck to me. Up till recently I didn't have much morth waxing, It's not easy to wax rust! lol.

I know, but the weather isn't cooperating, and i havn't had time.
I forgot about the clay bar, I've tried waxing, with no avail.
I did use some cleaner at work that actually could strip plastichrome without rubbing,( i diluted it) it took the wax off, but still streaky.

<edit>
I'll try buffing it out when the weather breaks. if not, clay bar

( buffings cheaper as we have professional compounds, and tools at work)

I could but I would rather spend that money on rims, subs, drop...
you get the idea

plus I don't trust other people cleaning my truck. I go to the auto wash, get the works, and detail 'er myself at home
