the only other thing that you could have done, was gap the plugs wrong or even got some of the wires crossed. but if it is number 5 then the injector could be bad. when was the last time you ran any fuel system cleaner through it? and make sure you plug wires are not hitting the exhaust manifolds.

ill check that but on my truck there are plastic clips that hold them away so that should not be a problem, i gapped them to .40 which is what they both the manual, the label on the hood, and this site say to gap them to, and it guess its possible to have crossed plugs, but does anyone know what the firing order is then so that i can check that to see if i am correct?

does anyone know how to remove a fuel injector as just running the cleaning fluid through it in the gas did not work very well so if i could get it off to check it that would be helpful, but i dont know how, and what do u mean switch the wire that is on cylinder 5 with that wire that is on say cylinder 6??? bc i did not think to try that, but it shouldnt be the wires are brand new

I've had several occasions that parts were bad right out of the box. Plugs for one, wires for another(metal ends where spread apart to far and wouldn't get a good conection on the plug) also bad starters out of the box and something else can't think of right now. I would try switching one wire with another just to see what happens.

ok i will try that, and does any one know how to get the fuel injectors off so that i can check to see if it is clogged, and would loose wires on the computer cause this if they are the correct ones, and i was thinking about trying to go back to the old wires to see if that would undo the probem, and what would happen if the wires were touching the exhaust manifold?? would it cause them to not work right or just overheat or what?? an answer ASAP would help ALOT thanks

well im going to go back to the old cap and rotors at least probably the wires will go with them and no none of the wires were touching the exhaust manifolds, not that i think that should have affected them any, but thats my opinion, any other ideas, i did realize that the distributor cap was loose when i got home, but when i tightened it up and tried driving it again it still did itonly after i hitthe gas real hard, and this time the check engine light flashed??? any idea why it was flashing??? or what could have caused it???
