Default Major Misfire issue

the problem got worse today, at first it would only misfire on occasion when it was idling and even then it wasnt noticable, but on my way to work today going up a pretty big hill the RPMs hit abour 2500 and i could feel the misfire, the truck kept running but the misfire didnot go away, the light came back on and it was noticeable at all times except even cruising at about 1500 RPM without a load, and help would be great, and soon too PLEASE now driveablitiy is also affected as when you step on the gas it hesitates before it accelerates and if you watch the RPMs they seem to almost go up in steps just as when idling it seems to go up and down btwn 500 and 600 RPM??? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED thanks in advance for any help you can give me

PS i thought about maybe i knocked a wire loose from one of the fuel injectors while i was changing cap rotor and wires?? is this possible and would it cause the engine to do this?

PSS the spark plug in cylinder 5 was dry and clean when i took it out to check it, and the plugs are only about 3 weeks old and have less than 100 miles on them and are champions

yes all of them isnt that what started happening today? when did it start misfiring, before you changed the wires but had changed the plugs, or had this been going on before all of this?

you dont mess with the timing on these trucks. it will through all sorts of things off. depending on the mileage i would have it brought to the dealer and have them check the crank shaft sensor. if the truck was doing this before the tune up this could be the cause.this sensor controls the pulses for the injectors. if you moved the distributor than you are probably way off.

i did not remove the distributor, but i did replace it, i will try to reseat it when i get a chance, but before i changed the wires it was not noticable that it was misfiring, and just cylinder 5 is what the computer was and still is saying, and it was with the old plugs too, but they were the POS Bosch Platinums so i got good plugs and good mopar performance wires and then itstarted to act up noticably after thenew wires

one more question, could i have knocked a fuel injector electrical connection off and that could be whats causing it, or could i have knocked a wire loose from the computer set up while doing this as i took off the air hat and top of the filter box to get at the distributer more easily??

doubt it, on the wire off the injector, so you changed the distrubutor...? this could be the problem, or did you change the cap and rotor...? also like i said you could have a bad plug...
