Simple, Budget Winch Mount

Simple, Budget Winch Mount
After looking at what I could buy for a winch mount, and how much they cost I decided to build my own. I didn't really have the time to build a complete replacement bumper, so this is what I came up with for a simple alternative. I still need to add D-rings to the front, I just haven't decided how I want to do that yet.
I used 1/4" x 8" steel plate for most of it. The frame extensions are 2" x 0.188" wall square tube welded to 1/4" x 4" plate. I also added a stiffener to the plate to accommodate the winch loads when pulling perpendicular to the frame. The brush guard style winch cradle is bolted to the frame extensions with ˝-13 grade 8 bolts. For the frame connection I used the two 12mm bolts on each frame rail that bolt the bumper brackets to the frame and added another 7/16” grade 8 bolt further back that goes through an existing slot in the frame. The Solidworks image shows the approximate scheme for the frame attachment.
The weight of the complete winch mount is approx. 70 lb and the 9000lb hydraulic winch weighs 90lb with cable, for a combined weight of 160 lb. The additional weight compressed the front suspension between 0.5 - .75in. I’m planning to crank the torsion bars to get the truck back to factory ride height…or maybe a little higher.
If there is interest, I can get a few more photos when the weather dries up here.

That is nice! Do you by chance have any measurements for that winch mount. I have a 99 5.2 4x4 and want to mount a 9000 lb winch on mine but the bumpers I have found are a little out of my budget. In fact they are a lot out of it. So I have been looking for a budget friendly alternative and that looks like it. Please let me know I can give you my email so you can send them to it. Along with the pix for reference. Thanks again and nice job.
