Suspension rattle: FOUND!!!
Hi Guys!
Today I took my -D- to the Dealer in my second try to find out the annoying suspension rattle sound that came from the driver's side floor and/or steering column shaft.
It was the bushings that hold the pedal brake arm! I took the tech guy to a test drive and he finally heard the sound! He told me that the brake pedal arm had a sideway play and that creates the noise along the steering shaft under irregular road. Once the bushings were replaced, the brake pedal arm will become firm. No sideway movement at all. I drove it back home around 23 miles and no noise at all!
Summary:
Check if your brake pedal arm has any play. Mine had a very small movement but apparently that's enough to produce the confusing noise and feeling.

is 1/4"-1/2" enough play?
I have 300 bucks in warranty deductibles wrapped up in a clunking sound from my drivers side floor, after reading your post I went out and shook my pedal and there is some play in it and I hear a sound when I move it side to side. My question is how much play did yours have? And can I get my 300 back, or at least 100? I love this truck/wagon/Durango, but all the service debacles make my blood boil. I had to take it back 2 times after each recall notice because; for the first one, my dash was hemorrhaging screws (some were just not even screwed all the way in, like my knee hit one of them sticking out 1" from being screwed in all the way, SHAMEFUL) ! For the second; they put my dash back together so loosely that it rattled and had visible gaps in the joints... very disappointed in dodge/Chrysler dealerships so far.

Suspension Rattle - Mine Also!!!!! Found part Number
Hi guys,
I have had this noise for the past 4 months and it was driving me crazy. Now that I know what the problem is, I am having a hard time getting a bushing. Called the local Dodge dealer today and was told I had to buy the who brake pedal assembly!!!!
Does anyone know the part number for this bushing? And where to buy it??
*******Found it. Found a parts guy that took screenshots of the brake pedal assembly and sent them to me. Although the parts were on the non-adjustable parts fiche.***********
Thanks,
Jeff
