THE SIDE OF MY DRIVERS SEAT RECENTLY TOTALY CRACKED, I THINK IT MAY BE A DEFECT BECAUSE ITS MAD OUTA HARD PLASTIC, HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE SEAT?

 

I bought myDurango used andthe driver and passenger seat plastic was cracked bigtime. I had the dealer fix it before I would buy the truck. I am not sure why it happenedbut I haven't had any problems since I have owned the truck.

 

OH OK IMA HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO SEE WHAT KIND OF EXCUSE THEY MAKE UP NOT TO FIX IT,LOL

We have 2 Gen 2 D's wereI work, and both of them have the same issue. I believe it to be a common problem. They will replace the part under the B to B warranty, but once thats done they will want some bucks.

I don't think they upgraded the replacement part either, which means it will probably happen again.

Common problem.

If it isn't cracked, put reinforcement washers behind it to keep it from cracking.

I've seen rentals with 12,000 miles have that area busted. Makers defect.

Will replace under warranty if you have one still.

Mine has been replaced 2 times now. I have found that when I get out of the seat i put pressure on that side, because I am so short. The new one is cracked also. So I think that is what it is. The new one, the seatbelt cover fell fell off so I superglued it back on and I have had no trouble since.

 

Yeah, I have gone through 3 already, but I have 97K on my 05. And yes I bought it new.

Engineer flaw in the durango. I've seen and replaced many.

 

Yes It have happen to me. When someonestep outwithout using the Running Board. All there weight is on that plactic on the side of the seat. My's on bothside is broke. The seatbelt cover is broke also.

 

Same here just noticed it last night! I believe I'll do so repair to it before it gets worser cracked about a inch or more every way from the top screw hole!
