air bag light

Default air bag light

Hi All
i replace the battery in my durango 2004
the light for the air bag is on in the dash and on the passanger side
how can i re programme it

Did it come on after you replace the battery? Or was it before? Here's what I would do. If you still have warranty, take it and say air bag lite came on and don't say anything about the battery that was replaced.

Then you should take itin and have the starscan hooked up and find what the codes are.

PG, disconnect your negative battery terminal, and press brake pedal for a bit. Then, reconnect and see if lights go out.

Hi
i tried disconnecting the negative post of battery and pressing the brake pedal light goes off
But this is my problem in detail
All was well till i change my battery
When i place ignition key on the light for thewarning light for the air bag is on also the passenger side
but when i start the car the both lights goes off but they turn back on and i hear 1 beep tone
before i change the battry all was ok

PG:

I agree with Master tech. If you are still getting a trouble indication after doing the battery reset, you need to bite the bullet and get to a dealer. Air bags and their associated systems are nothing to mess with.

If you are lucky, maybe its a known problem and they will take care of of it gratis as a PR move.

I had this problem as well, took it to the dealer, replaced the switch (2 times) said if it happend again they would replace the air bag.
