Default Dome light issue

My Dome lights are weird! They do not come on when the doors open. They do not come on when adjusting the dashboard dimmer "wheel". But if you press on the lights individually, they come on as they should (so they're obviously receiving power and the bulbs are fine).

Any suggestions? thanks a lot...

If anyone has a PDF manual would you post up the wiring schematic to the interior lighting?

I can help track down your issue if I have a schematic.

There is a Gen2 issue with FIRES that had a recall. It involved wiring in the dash.

1) If you haven't had it fixed, do so NOW. Could be related to your wiring/electrical issue.

2) If you HAVE had the recall completed, a side effect is failing dome lights after the recall is completed. Take it back to the dealer and make them fix that too.

Happy to help.

I just had my 05 D in for the recall, it is the cluster gauge. My lights wouldn't turn off at all.

I just got my Durango back from the dealership, after having the dash recall done. Mine is the same way, the lights go off after several seconds instead of dimming, I am with you, i would prefer the dim if at all possible.

Back to the original post... I think they are switched off.
