how to get mopar car starter for 2008 durango to stay on longer
does anyone know if you can get the starter to stay on longer then 10mins or make it start more than twice without me going outside in the cold to put my key in the truck to reset it so i can start it again??
Many aftermarket remote starters can be programmed for longer time intervals ... The Viper line can go 10/20/30 minutes....
Unsure if the mopar unit has programability ...Have you asked the dealer ???
You might have to replace with an aftermarket one
i have a starter button on the key installed by the dealer, in montreal, quebec its illegal to make you car run on idol for longer then 5 mins. Winters are cold here, so i usually start my truck for 25-30mins before i leave, but the new truck i got is programmed for 9 mins, and can only remote start it twice. if you try to restart it, it won't work, you have to go out and start it manually
Running the engine in park for prolonged periods of time is NOT good for wear and tear. A shorter life and damage would be in your future with 25-30 minute idle periods on a frequent basis.
