dodge durango 2004 ???
No carbs on these, they're fuel injected. That recall only affected the 3.7 & 4.7 engines. The Hemi wasn't included. I've had mine now for 3 weeks. I ordered it, took about 1 month. I love it. It replaced a 97 Range Rover and is much better than the British beast. Surprisingly, even with the hemi it gets better mileage than the RR and is far more powerful. I would recomend a couple options as must haves-side airbags, split 3rd row (much easier to use than the standard 3rd row) and running boards-the shape of the wheel wells throws a lot of road debris up and they block most of it.
We have had our 2004 Hemi Durango 4x4 since November 22nd, 2003. We absolutely love it! It is our primary Tow vehicle for our 24' KZ Frontier Hybrid camper.
Its got all the toys, 3rd row seat, dual A/C, tow package, AWD, Traction control, etc..
I just wish that I could find a chip programmer to be able to adjust the shift points for better towing performance. If anybody knows of a company that makes a chip programmer for the 2004 Hemi Durango, please let me know!
Thanks

Hi ya'll. I work for DC at the only place in the world where your Durangos are made: The big DC Newark Assembly Plant in Newark, Delaware. Glad you guys like'em. Considering that this was a complete redesign with new engineering and new government standards regarding air bag deployment and other ...I'd say we did a pretty good job in the parts per million defects for a new launch. Don't get me wrong ...sometimes it was hell on earth in there ....but quality was always issue #1 during the launch last year. That is why we didn't debut it until November of 03 while standard model launch industry wide is usually late July early August. Since then we've been cranking them out at an average rate of 380 per shift, 2 shifts 6 days a week. So go buy'em now if you haven't already! Keep me in a job! LOL
You're building that many a shift and I had to wait 2 months for mine? Somebody must be buying them.
Good job.
Good job.

If you went to the dealership and placed a custom order.....I know why. Upon launch ...our primary goal was getting the required 'lot fillers' to the dealerships. On top of the required 2 to 10 Durangos per dealership ( depending on their volume ) we had just over 40,000 orders that were customer specific. That number has drastically fell off but with the lot fillers dwindling ...here we are about 8 months later still running 10 hour days with 3 Saturdays per month in the build schedule! In this line of work .....its either feast or famine! Enjoy your Durangos everybody and the crew at Newark Assembly appreciates your business!
Hi I have a 2004 Durango wich I like alot but has anybody experienced the vibration and helicoptor sound with the rear windows open it even hurts your ears can anybody tell me they have I drove another and it was the same so it's not just mine try it out and please respond thanks
It is a pheonomenon associated with alot of different vehicles. 3rd gen Camaros cannot be driven with the windows down at highway speeds it is so bad. Just the way the aerodynamics work, the inside of the vehicle creates a huge vaccum as you drive with the windows down. On some cars the air rushs in at just the right frequency.
