Heavy vibration(shaking) @ 70+ MPH
Hi all, a mb in here. My wife and I went to an car action in a Naval base, and we buy a D 05 slt, after that i took the D to the house and start a good chk up(I'm a auto tech for Land Rover) and find the usual for a 60k truck brakes F/R anti freeze, trans oil, engine oil ( i put castrol syntech 5/30)spark plugs belts, tire balance, aligment, chk the u-joint(good) ball joints ect, ect.then driving a LONG trip we notice the truck start to shake at 70+ but the steering wheel is ok(means not shaking)is just the body when we arrive at the destination i put the truck in a lift and double chk everything .Nothing loose chassis mounts diff double chk the balance of tires again and no luck. Any advice on something similar to other D lovers(cuz no matter what that is our baby)tnks .

how to raise the front susppention ..
I notice today that the rubber stops they are a bit to close to the control arms,i was wonder how can i raise the susp a bit more..in relation with the first post..i found the problem..i was balance the tires like normal tires..today i balanced again but with the speed balance machine and chk the road force, 2 tires were OUT off the normal so spend a bit of time and finally i got it all 4 tires to have 14 lbs of road force..now it runs like a charm..tnks

I have never heard of balancing tires based on road force.
I was going to say that the rubber was the issue. I would have looked at a broken belt that looked fine under a balance but broke down during usage. Sounds like that is what the 'road force' test does/did.
Glad you got it. Any info you want to share on the road force balancing machine, feel free!

I talked to a guy locally and road force balancing is 4X the rate of regular balancing. He said that when you have a vibration you can't seem to find, to try the road force option. Otherwise, sticking with the regular balancing would be fine normally. It's the difference between $30 and $120.

Drivetrain vibration
Hello...I'm new to DF, just joined today. I have a 2006 Durango Limited 4X4 5.7 Hemi. It has 40K on it. I've noticed that at 75 mph I'm getting some drivetrain vibration. There is no vibration before or after 75 mph. You can feel it in the seat of your pants and through the stearing wheel. It's not a tire out of balance. Does anyone have an idea or suggestion?

Hello Doctor..well first how long was the last time that the tires were balance? usually after 30k with factory wheel/tires or aftermarket is good to Road Force balance. Your local Dodge dealer have to got the machine for that. Second if is a vibration that you can feel from your seat all the way to the front of the trk at 75mph and you are not a off road runner with the trk I will said to chk the driveshaft it can be out of balance or the U joints, also chk the tranni mounts, there's been some D owners having issues with the rear end, and complaining for vibrations but this is really a few cases. My personal opinion start with the driveshaft chk and the U joints..
