New rear brakes squeaking
Just replaced the rear brakes on my 2004 Durango and now they are squeaking badly. Rotors are fine on the vehicle and just wondered if someone might have a tip or suggestion for me to get them to stop.
I'm not sure what brand of pads you used, but cheaper aftermarket pads will usually always be noisy. You may try a better quality pad, a dealer pad, or ceramic. I would also recommend machining your rotors reguardless of the appearance. It only takes a slight ridge or thickness vairiation to cause a squeak.
I replaced the pads with another set and used disc brake quiet on the pads and they still squeak. It's not a constant squeak as it comes and goes. What exactly is the hi temp grease that's used on the calipers and why would they cause the squeak? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for the info.

I have ceramics on my 07' that are less than 20% worn and they squeak no matter what I do. I have turned the rotors, used all the appropriate greases and they just squeak. Gonna go away from ceramics next time I change them.
