Some what a common issue.

Water gets in there, corrodes the connections and tada... exactly what you have. Once you get it open, take the cover off from the inside and inspect. You'll see what I am talking about. Clean, lubricate, replace, drive.

HTH,

That indeed is a problem. I suggest that it is a 2 man effort.

Power liftgate should have a button on the key fob to open and close it. Press unlock and this should unlock the doors and the lift gate (it works on mine),

its not a power lift gate. just powerlocks... but the lock actuator is dead and it is stuck in the lock position. I cant figure out how to unlock it. if i can get it unlocked it would just open normally.

Hum...there is no key hole like in the older models. I would ask the dealer if they have a solution. otherwise you may have to take the rear panel off if that is a possobility wiith the gate shut,

so for those interested, i have fixed the problem. I went to the dealer and they said that there is no manual way to open the liftgate. so i went home and removed all the trim panels from the door. which i had to break one because the bottom goes around the lock mechanism. once i got those off i had access to the assembly. on the right side you have to bend the metal part back to reveal a plastic casing. break the casing and it will reveal all the machanical parts of the lock. after that just push it forward and it releases. kind of a pain in the ***.
