Exclamation Need Replacement RF Headphones for 2004 Durango VES

Can anyone tell me what headphones will work with the VES in our 2004 Dodge Durango? Over the years the set that came with the car have fallen apart. I am pretty sure that they operate using radio frequency (RF) and to get another pair of stock headphones (which in my opinion are junk) would cost me about $200. I am not willing to pay that much for a pair of headphones! After a little online searching I have found quite a few RF headphones but am confused as to why they come with a transmitter? Do I need a transmitter to make them work or will any 'RF' headphone just work? I can't stand to listen to anymore kids movies over the speakers and am anxious to get a new pair ASAP. I appreciate any help you can offer.

Default Dodge Headphones

You can also get them from here...

They even have the 900Mhz headphones that some Durango's need.

That era VES was a PITA--there are two options for headphones and one is significantly more expensive.

I called dealer and gave them VIN and got them to give me the MOPAR replacement part number and price. Mine turned out to be the RF version---I neded up buying it on eBay after a fair amount of double checking.

You may also want to email Chrysler and get a build sheet for your car--it's great reference tool

Where on the build sheet does it tell you which headphones you need?

Mine says: XRV - Rear Seat Video System

My D didn't come with the headphones (bought used), but the ones that came with my 2006 Magnum (VES) work just fine.

The Code for the VES from the build sheet will help dealer get you the correct part number.

Should have said that in reply---but build sheet is a handy thing to have and a lot of people aren't aware that they can get one..
