Default Eibach lowering spring kit

I recently purchased a Eibach lowering spring kit (came with springs only) I had a local car shop install them and to my surprise they said I need to get some sort of front kit.....To my understanding from what I have read online the front is factory adjustable. Or am I wrong? I wanted the local shop to lower the front they said they couldnt because of this "kit". I need to know what to do so I can level the truck out now, as it is low in the back but slightly higher in the front.

My fronts are down all the way and are no way low enough if I had Eibachs. I need new front torsion keys or need to shave my keys. I hear every 1/4" on a key is 1" lower. My 2004 was about 1.25" lower than the 08 with they keys all the way down.

You could purchase drop spindles, but they are not cheap,

I have never seen drop spindles for a Durango could you post a link? You can buy torsion keys that drop it a little more than the stock keys.

This is not the kit I bought from Tire Rack but it is sold by other retailers. Are those the extra parts that I would need in the picture?(my kit only came with springs) If so where can I get them? When buying from Tire Rack there was no choice only one kit(springs).

SWEN DAB,

All the Eibach kits I see online have a note * that the picture shown is not the acutal kit" It is well know the kit for 2004-2009 Durnago's only contain the rear coils and the instructions clearly state teh front is lowered by altering the torsion keys by the factory adjustment bolt. The parts you see in the above picture are shock brackets. You so not need to change shocks with the Eibach 3" drop.

You may want to see if oyur installer followed the directions and knew what they where doing. The instructions very clearly tell you how to drop the front. They also needed to cut the bump stops or you will be bottoming out on them.

Kit Contents Description Part Number Qty
Rear Springs 2868.002 2
Information Kit EPAK 1
Instructions 2868.520INST 1
NOTES: Read All Instructions Before Beginning Installation
• Installation of a PRO-KIT spring set should only be performed by a qualified technician experienced in the
installation and removal of suspension springs.
• Use of a hoist is highly recommended and will substantially reduce installation time.
• Never work on or under a vehicle unless it is properly supported by safety stands and wheels are blocked.
• PRO-KIT Springs are marked with 01 and 02 (located at the end of the part number) designating front and
rear spring respectively.
• PRO-KIT Springs should be installed with the Eibach Logo right side up. All original stock spring isolators,
dampers and tubing should be retained from the stock springs and used when installing the PRO-KIT
Springs.
• After installation, it is always important to inspect and adjust the following if necessary:
- Wheel alignment such as camber, caster & toe
- Tire and/or wheel fender clearance
- Brake line clearance and attachments
- Brake anti-locking and anti-skid system sensors
• Tire Rotation: In order to increase the life of your tires rotate your tires every 3,000 miles.
ALIGNMENT:
After installation, it will be necessary to perform a full vehicle alignment to ensure proper tire wear and performance.
OE Rear Spring Removal
1. After the vehicle is raised and supported at the
frame by safety stands or a hoist, remove the rear
tires.
2. Raise the rear axle housing with a jack to take the
tension off the shocks. Now disconnect the anti-roll
bar end-links and the lower rear shock mounts.
3. Lower the axle housing only enough to remove the
coil springs. The upper rubber spring isolator pads
will be reused with the Eibach Pro-Kit
4. Remove the rear bumpstops from the cups on the
frame, you may need a screw driver to help “pop”
them out. (See Photo 1)
Photo 1
5. Once the rear bumpstops are removed they need
to be trimmed. Remove 22mm from the top of the
bumpstops. The bumpstop on the left represents
the trimmed piece. (See Photo 2)

6. Before reinstalling the rear bumpstops it may be
necessary to adjust the “tangs” that secure the
bumpstop in the cup, this can be done with a
hammer and a punch. (See Photo 3)

EIBACH Rear Spring Installation
7. Be sure all dirt or debris is cleaned from the spring
perch and the spring pads before installing the new
Eibach springs.
8. Install the new Eibach rear springs so the Eibach
logo and part number are right side up. Be sure to
use the upper OE spring isolator pads with the
Eibach spring kit.
9. Reconnect the rear shocks and anti-roll bar end-link
nuts. Do not tighten at this time.
10. Lower the axle.
11. Install the rear tires and torque lug nuts to factory
specs.
12. Lower rear of vehicle to the ground.
13. Torque lower shock bolts and anti-roll bar end-link
nuts with the vehicle sitting on the ground under its
own weight.
NOTE: On some models it may be necessary to adjust
the rear tail pipe after the muffler for axle
clearance. If required, loosen the 15mm nut on
the tail pipe clamp and slide the rear tail pipe
section out towards the rear of the vehicle
approximately one inch. (See Photo 4)

Front Torsion Bar Adjustment
NOTE: Each vehicle is different and may require several
height adjustments to achieve the desired
height. We recommend lowering the front 1.5” –
2.0” for a level stance. We have determined
that 3 full turns out on the torsion key adjusting
bolt lowers the front end of the vehicle
approximately 1.0”.
14. Measure the front ride height from the center of the
wheel up to the fender lip on both sides and record
heights. Do not measure from the ground.
15. Raise front of vehicle and support with safety
stands. It is important to remove the weight from
the tires before making any adjustments. This will
prevent the torsion bar adjuster bolt from stripping.
16. Loosen the left and right torsion bar adjuster bolts.
17. Lower the vehicle and drive for at least one mile.
18. Park the vehicle in the same location and measure
the ride height using the same points on the vehicle
when previously measured.
19. If your vehicle requires additional adjustments,
repeat the process.
20. Always follow factory recommendations for
reassembly and torque specifications

Yeah, the instructions also clearly fail to state that you have to cut the front bump stops. I have this kit and without cutting the bump stops on the front the suspension sits directly on the stops. I'd also beg to differ on the requirements, or lack there of to put shorter shocks or shock extensions on as well.

Default lowering durango 2007 with eibach

i am considering this too. was dissapointed when there were no fronts. ntl, it says that the rears will lower the durango by 3'. upon assessment, it is in the rear that the lowering needs to occur. so i plan to leave the front as is. can anyone comment on this approach.

regards,
