i just realized that on my stock 20" rims the chrome is plated on to a plastic cover. is this true for everyone?

 

Ya, they are chrome clad wheels.

ABS plastic 'chrome' clad wheels are standard on many vehicles,

One advantage that I have heard with them is that if you get some curb rash, you can just throw out the clad and put a new one on - done. In the old days, you have to have your wheel repaired and re-chromed, or replace the wheel all together.

 

I see the 17" & 18" skins on E B AY but never the 20" from what I have read several time that we cant buy the 20" chrome Clad covers Dodge doesnt offer it. We would also need the super dooper glue to hold them on.
