My dealer tried to tell me I did not have a power liftgate on my Durango until I showed him. I am glad they are gone as the sales (not sure abot the service) department were inept. I should probably order a few so that I do not have to wait a week for what seems to be a common part,

Don't know if you have the same part number on your '07, but I know I would if I could find another. Though I think by the time I'll need another, my rack and pinion will be shot and I'll get them with that.

The other part that I had a hard time finding was a high pressure power steering line. That was a week order part as well from the Dodge warehouse. Not at all available in the after-market world. They told me they had never seen one of those fail on my year D. That one was a bit more critical as at the time I was about 2000 miles away from home and blowing a couple of quarts of power steering fluid (all over the place) about every fill up. I made sure to order a second one of those so I wouldn't be in that situation again.

So I got a call from Rockauto today, and they have told me that the part that I ordered is actually out of stock and are unsure if they will be getting it back in stock. Guess I'll be going to the machine shop or the scrap yard for now.

***Update*** Have placed a call to Chrysler corporate parts to try and resolve my issue. I should hear something back from them tomorrow.

Chrysler corporate was of no help. Their response was they are only required to keep manufacturing parts up to five years after manufacture and these particular inner tie rods are not available in the after market world.

I was not able to find just the inner tie rods to my rack and pinion. I did end up eating the cost to replace the entire rack and pinion with a re-manufactured A1Cardone which came with the inner tie rods for a total cost of about $700 bones. The original rack and pinion was not bad, just the inner tie rods. The OEM rack and pinion and inner tie rods had gone 175k miles.

Red face thank you----inner tie rod part #

As for the 16mm at rack end they are unsure of availability and price. Autozone doesn't even stock the inners at all they only sell the entire rack assembly with inners. As for the dealer, i spoke with my local dealer and they don't have any specs on the part so are unsure if it is a 24mm or 16mm thread on the actual part. They asked for my r & p part number which doesn't even match the two p/n they have listed for my d. So i called a dealer that has one in stock and asked them to pull it to verify the part. It is of course the 24mm thread at rack end.

The part number that i'm looking for is #ev800573. It is a moog inner tie rod 16mm at rack end and 16mm on outer end. Rockauto only had one in stock and ordered it earlier today. Should be here wednesday. Till then i guess i'll leave my d parked.

I haven't had the opportunity yet to own a classic car so wouldn't know about parts availability for them. I can say though i have a '93 chevy caviler still lying around and i know that parts for it are more than plenty.

thank you thank you for posting part # and rockauto web site! We have had the same problem. Took of the broken inner tie rod and the tie rod ordered from ebay and autozone were all wrong sizes. Had no idea 16mm and 24mm sizes. Napa and advance auto dont even have the part on their systems. I just ordered 2! My durango is sitting jacked up useless with no hope in sight except having to order a new rack which is what dealer told me. Waiting to get parts and drive again. Pray for me it fits! Thanks natalie
