I call it as I see it. You bash Dodge on a Dodge Forum, and state how bad they are and that you'll never buy another again. Thats called trolling. Stating problems and asking for advice is one thing, but not seeking help and just all out bashing is ridiculous.

They do not call them $tealerships because of poor customer service. They call them $tealerships because of the extremely high prices for everything.

How is stating you had a bad experience and not using common sense "name calling ... a little early"? The only name you may accuse me of calling you is troll, because you were trolling.

This is getting good.

Firsts I have looked at the site for information on the problems I have had on the car.

Second I was commenting on the first persons post and how I can understand there feels with their car.

Third I was stating facts that I have dealt with.

Fourth customer service and experience is a key factor on people feeling ripped off from dealers. If a person or people feel that they received great service and have had great experiences with a dealer they do not feel as if they have been robbed of their money.

I called it like is see it and stated I would never buy another dodge again. I never stated or suggested that others should do the same.

As I am the one that started this thread I feel the need to reply. The reason I wrote on this board was because when I searched "Dodge Durango Problems" this was one of the major sites that I kept running across. In doing that reseach I have found literally dozens of instances of this happening to Durango owners just like myself. My hope is that people who are considering buying one of these SUV's will run across my story and run! As for being called a troll? Well, I don't really care. I would rather be called a troll than be blindly loyal to a car company that has a known problem and chooses to ignore it.
As a consumer I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a certain level of quality on a vehicle that cost almost $45,000 when new. I bought this SUV because of the motor, the history of the Hemi brand, and the towing capacity. What I did not expect was to have to replace the engine when it has less than 90,000 miles on it. If this has been an isolated case I would be acting differently. Oh well, sucks to be me and all that. Or if I had been doing something stupid like towing a 20,00lb trailer or going up a really steep hill at 90mph. I was trying to pick my son up from school. If you think this is all well and good, well then I hope Dodge is paying you for all the good PR.

Sorry this started turning into a thread jack.

your words seem to be fitting for your experiance. Mine are as well. Who would haqve thought coming to a forum to express your thoughts, ideas, and seeking for information was a problem.

Hope you get your car fixed and that you can enjoy the car as many seem to do here. I have enjoyed the car as much as I can with some major concers to me that have been a poke in the side for a long time. I have been lucky that I have really only had the major problem of the torque converter going out.

No vehicle is exempt from manufacturing errors or design flaws, ask Toyota forums. It is disheartening when it happens especially when you have young children that could put them in harm's way. Sell it and get what you fell is a better brand, it is still a free world for now until Obama changes the rules,

I was going to just bow out of the thread since there is no way to resolve it, but I have to comment on this.

It is sad that you have had bad experiences, and that you will never buy a Durango again. Like fascistfaction states, every brand has design flaws and problems. If you bought the car used, that contributes to the issues as well, because there is no way to know exactly how the previous owner treated the vehicle.

What made me angry was that the entire point of this thread was to state one person's problem and bash Dodge. The first I have no problem with, the latter I do. There was no seeking of help, answers, ideas, or information.

My wife's family had a really bad experience with a brand new Chevrolet once. The car would randomly accelerate or brake. When the service manager at the Chevrolet dealership they bought it from took it for a test drive by himself and brought it back, he rolled up to my father-in-law and said he couldn't replicate the problem. Then he proceeded to park it, and the car decided to accelerate into the dealership wall.

It took a lawsuit and lengthy court battle for my wife's parents to get their money back. Do you see my father-in-law or myself going onto Chevrolet forums just to tell our story and tell everyone there that Chevrolet or GM products are piles of junk, that we will never buy one again?

No, you don't.

However, once again, fascistfaction is right, its a free country (for the moment, at least). Sell the car and do as you wish.

I did not slam the entire product line. I did state that "I" would never buy another.

I am very familure with lemon law in the state of California as I was a technician for another brand. I an also use to seeing problem cars day in and day out. this does not mean the brand of cars I worked on were junk.

As fascistfaction stated that all car have manufaturing problems. The problem I have in dealing with the dealers I dealt with and the manufacture is the lack of customer service and stepping up to the plate to do what it takes to handle the problem that I have been dealing with. I am not one to sue at the drop of the hate and I also did not want to take years to deal with a law suite. "My choising". I stated facts that I have dealt with and can under stand how someone can have the simalure thoughts or feelings as I do.

The forum is not just to people who love the brand, but to help others that are having problems and alow for a place to look for answers.

I have a few other post that I have seeked help from as well as posted my finds on my car. I understand if the first poster has not other postings and this was his first. I have not research his posting nor will I.

I have an issue with you calling me a troll with out researching my previous post or trying to see that I have an idea of what goes on with repair cars. As a moderator I would think that you would reseach before thor out the name calling card. I would think you would try and help others find answers they are looking for or at least try to help turn the view point around.

I don't expect everyone that comes on here to be in complete love with their Dodge. However, that person (the OP) had no interest in having their viewpoint turned around. Nothing I said or can say will change his/her mind. Their mind is closed and locked on this topic, as is obvious by their posts in this thread. Why waste my breath?

Once again: they did not want ideas/thoughts or help of any kind. They came on here to bash their Dodge, and thats pretty much it. Whether they hoped in vain that new people to the forum would see their post and take their advice, or they were simply looking to start a conflict, I do not know, but it does not really matter.

If someone had come into the 2nd Generation Ram section and posted what they did, I would have locked it down. People like the OP are not being helpful or contributing anything constructive at all to the forum. There were no questions or asking of opinions.

Side note: Not saying the moderators here were in error for not locking this one down, we just have different moderating styles.

No problem. Nothing against you personally, just a conflict of attitudes/opinions in this thread here.
