Getting a large rumbling sound. Any idea how many bolts on both sides? The dealer tells me that their is no gasket listed? Any thoughts? Difficult job or not dealer wants $18/bolt and $8/nut. What do you guys think any good parts places online to order from? Thanks a million.

Go to another dealer. On the 5.7 there are 4 bolts and 4 studs per manifold. The studs are so that you can nut the heatshield. Also there is a gasket for each of the manifolds. All in all I spent about 40 bucks in parts per side. Was able to do the job myself as well. Not the most room in the world to work with when doing them though. Took me roughly four hours a side. Hint used lots of pb blaster on the bolts and studs and let them soak for and hour or two before attempting to remove them. Ideally you. would let them soak overnight. Also, when initally loosening them be gentle and do not apply too much force or torque. You will run the risk of breaking them off in the head and likely will have to remove the head and bring to a machine shop to get the rest out. Good luck.
