2004 Hemi Durango -Poor acceleration and odds issues
Hello,
My 2004 Durango Hemi, just did the spark plugs and EGR valve, I noticed in the last few weeks a loss of power when accelerating, just like if I was constantly pulling something behind the truck. Sometimes it's fine, some oter times, it's bad.
Also notice my temperature gauge is reading a bit higher than normal, gas mileage dropped big time (usually 15-16L per 100km in town, now i'm above 21L)
Don't know if this is associated with it, it developped a clicking noise on passenger side when the motor is cold, can hear it in the cabin. If it runs for 2-3 minutes, no noise when i'll accelerate. I have 2000 kms before my factory 7/115km expires, should I be concerned?
What could it be related to my issues? Bad fuel filter? Cat converters?

Sounds like you have the fabled exhaust manifold leak usually caused by broken or loose bolts.
what does your 7yr 115K warranty cover? is that the equivlent of the 7/70 powertrain warranty we had here in the US?
Your temp gauge should rest a needle width or two below the half way mark.
Has the cooling system ever been serviced?

Yes, it's the equivalent of the 7/70 in US. My warranty ends in July of this year or 115,000km. I have 113000 now.
Would the thicking noise go away when vehicle has warmed up a bit?
Needle reads a titch lower than the half mark, all my cars i've had were like that but always thought the Durango's reading was cooler.
Should I call my Dodge dealership for those exhaust bolts? Would that cause poor acceleration and gas mileage.

Yes, an exhaust leak is usually indicated by a ticking noise that lessens or goes away as the engine warms up.
Let us know how this goes for you. Here in the US, the PT warranty would cover the manifolds themselves along with seals and gaskets. I do not believe it will cover broken hardware though.
I'll cross my fingers for you!
