Default 2007 Durango, Hemi 5.7, low idle

First off, I am not a car guy so this may sound elementary but my Durango is idling around 500-600 and there is a slight rumble from the engine when sitting still but no stalling. I have approx 62k miles on and had all of the fluid flushed at approx 54k. Although the last time the it had a tune up with plugs, etc was around 35k. Can anyone advise what the potential issues is, if any.

Thanks,

Plugs should be changed every 30,000 miles,

50 to 100 RPMs is really evident at very low idle. 500 sounds a tad slow and that may be a stumble based on the low RPMs. Give it a good tune-up, reset the PCM and report back.

well, I had the tune-up and all of the plugs are changed and it seems like nothing has changed and potentially gotten worse. I listened to it when I got home from work today and it seems like it making a more pronounced noise. The idle is staying around 500-600 r[m when at idle. any ideas?

I was just under my Durango trying to isolate the sound, may be a possible exhaust issue??? I still have no error codes and the idle is steady, get frustrated and need to drive to work. if it is an exhaust issue making the noise, can i still run it or go straight to get it fixed?

If it was a Gen1 my suggestion would be to swap the TPS, check the IAT and reset the PCM. On the Gen2 it takes others to chime in because I am out of my element on the 5.7.

You have coils that could be slightly off, I think you have a Mass Air Flow sensor that may be wacky, you have a lot of little things that can be evaluated.

With that said, your noise may be exhaust related but that shouldn't be affecting the idle speed.

Well, i had my tune up done and discovered the noise I was hearing under the hood was my water pump, so that was replace under my lifetime warranty at no charge, had the radiator flushed and new fluids and all seems to be well. Thank you for your input and suggestions.

Sure is good you got that now instead of a couple hundred miles from home when it failed.
