New member with a problem
New to all this forum stuff.
One of my Dodges is a 04 Durango. Just receintly the front air doesn't work. Back works fine, but nothing from the front but warm air. How do I find anyone who has had this problem and knows the fix?

Welcome aboard alwaysdodge! I'm sure a Specialist will jump in shortly with a suggestion for addressing your problem. In the meantime, don't forget to browse Sub-Forums: Durango for stuff related to your ride.
Welcome to the forum JD:
As Jason requested, can you give us a bit more info as to how the A/C does or doe not work?
Have you tried all modes such as Defrost and Recirculate?
At first blush, it seems you could have either a blend door issue or be low on refrigerant.
Seems like lots of folks when they have no cold air in the front but plenty in the back find that they are low.

Doesn't seem to matter where you put the settings. Auto, Manual, Defrost, anywhere is the same. Even tried it on defrost and/or recirculate. Seems to be about outside temp. Really warm when it's hot outside (90) and just kinda warm when it's in the 70's. Also, doesn't seem to be any different when you first turn it on.
Had refrigerant checked and they say it's fine. Added just a couple of oz. just to make sure. Didn't change anything.

AD:
This is sounding more like a blend door issue.
I think there is a way the dealer can run a test/calibration protocol to see if the door(s) are working correctly.
If not, this is a labor intensive repair as the entire dash usually has to come out to to get to the $50 part that is the problem.
You have the doors that direct the air to different areas such as floor, dash, and windshield. Then the blend door is what directs the air either to the AC evap or Heater core depending on what you have called for.
Keep up posted and let us know what the outcome is if you will please.

There is a dealer diagnostic--they charged me $65 to run tests -- front evaporator had a leak, rear evap was fine.
Dealer quoted $1595 to repair. Independant garage quoted $1150.
It is a difficult job and shops allow 5 to 8 paid hours for it. Parts are a racket also. I priced the evap, drier, "block", and refrigerant and besst parts price I got was a little over $450 or so.
A friends Dad was in town and he was a Dodge AC tech for 15 years and he did job for me.
They got parts at dealer wholesale house for $225, labor did take ALL day including the pump down, pressure test etc.
I checked on job at lunch and steering column was on floor with seats all the way back, dash was completely out of car and a coffee can filled with screws, washers, clips etc. I couldn't imagine he would ever get it back together with out rattles, leaks cracks etc.
He also rebuilt blend doors while he had that unit out of car--yes completely out of car.
This is NOT a DIY job for first time. Shop hard for a reliable independat or retired guy and you can save a little. And watch parts pricing--NAPA, Advance and DIscount were all double the wholesale outfit.
Good luck
End was AC works
