Stalling
Sorry for the sucky first post guys, but I'm stumped. - This a 5.7L Hemi 2004 Dodge Durango
This vehicle has been stalling constantly. It's my girlfriend's mom's and she has brought it to a backyard mechanic that supposedly replaced the ECU, the fuse panel box and, well, the rest of the electricals. They've spent a ton of money just fixing this thing and she got it back after 2 or 3 months and it stalled 3 times within a few miles.
I'm getting low on ideas myself. I'm thinking maybe the crank sensor is bad. Is it a common issue on these vehicles?
Has anyone else experienced the stalling with these hemi engines? I'd really appreciate any info you guys could give. Thanks a lot!

Sparco:
How many miles on the D, and have the plugs ever been replaced?
If the battery is not fairly new, or is the original, it should be load tested and replaced if the least bit flaky.
Has the trans ever been serviced? In the early Durango's, there was an issue with the oem trans filter coming loose from its mounting which would confuse the system and cause stalling.
These are some places to start.

I have an 05 Dodge Durango Hemi...same problem as Sparco1 for about a year. It finally gave me a code P0335 (crankshaft sensor), and I finally got it replaced today. Also went ahead and replaced the cam shaft sensor while we were at it. Will drive it around for a while and see if this is finally the fix I've been looking for. Will let you know how it goes.
