Induction/Injector Service - Worth It?
I have a 2004 Dodge Durango with the 5.7L Hemi and about 105,000 miles.
The dealer is recommending "Fuel Induction Service" and "Fuel Injector Service", for $160 and $130 respectively. This was given to me in a list with other "to dos" because of the mileage. The others are listed in the manual service schedule for approx. my mileage, these aren't.
I was wondering the forums comments on whether it's worth it. I'm not seeing any decreased mileage or other issues (knock on wood). I do run injector cleaner through my tank every once and a while.
Thanks,
Will

No. The dealer is looking for extra money from your wallet.
If you are concerned, run back to back bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner. Even better if you can run it all straight through on a long trip somewhere.

I agree with Indy Durango. Dealer is ripping you off. Run the Techron (I do). Most gasoline today has cleaning additives that also clean your injectors, unless you use off brands. Those may or may not have those additional additives.
New injectors would be better than pulling the old ones to send them out to be cleaned. Although the fuel system cleaners are good, most do nothing more than a quality (high grade) gasoline already does with their detergents,

Nitrogen filled tires are good for collector vehicles that have bias ply tires for dry rot:

I use Techron (the larger bottle) followed with a bottle of Seafoam in my tank after every oil change and Marvel Mystery Oil at every fill up. Seafoam is good to use as a top end engine cleaner with carburetor engines,
