Malfunction light just came on while driving, but car still starts. Need help with this. I'm a single mother and not need it to stop on me while driving. Thank you.

 

you need to find the reason the light came on. You can go to autozone and they will read the code for you, That will give you and idea of where to start, It doesn't always mean thats the part to change, could be something simple like maybe you didnt tight up the gas cap after fueling.

A glowing CE light is not an immediate cause for concern unless it is flashing. In that instance one or more cylinders are misfiring, and sending raw fuel downstream to the catalytic convertors which do not like that at all!

Please advise us what engine your Durango has, and how many miles are on it.

Most likely, you have a sensor going bad or some other type of issue.

Does it seem to start and run fine other than the light?
