Default tow hooks

newbie here - please help out if you can.

i went home on vacation last month and got to see firsthand my folks new durango. sweet - didn't realize how large they are inside compared to the first gens! one question they had for me is retrieval. if you are pulling someone out (or getting pulled out) how do you hook up? any good points to hook your strap too are pretty high up behind the rear fascia and would tear into the plastic pretty well. they aren't really sold on a hitch and receiver hook as they never pull anything....but just a front and rear towhook would work. i know that on cherokees and libertys there are drop brackets that bolt up and then the hook mounts to that - anything similar to that for durangos? if so, any direction (links) would be much appreciated.
chris

p.s. sorry for making my first post a question - but i'm a jeep guy and am sort of lost with the full size rigs

I have tow hooks on the front of my 04. As for the receiver, go buy a hook the inserts into the receiver. Much more simple than trying to bolt anything to the frame.

i guess wasn't too clear at first. they don't have the hitch on the durango and would rather not purchase one just for a towpoint. that's why i'm trying to find the hook and bracket for either end.
thanks again,
chris

I guess I just wouldn't take it anywhere that I could get stuck.

thanks for that reply - it helped me so much. like mentioned above i'm only trying to get these parts for my mother - so i can't rightly tell her where and where not to drive. call me negative if you wish...but i can't help it. maybe i was just naive in thinking that a better class of durango would provide a better class of people.
chris (still likes the durango but not a big fan of some of the people here)

Hi there!

how did you solve your problem? I found that the OEM front hooks can be purchesed through the Internet for about $85 a pair (very easy to install... Dodge left the bolts on the frame). If you have the towing hitch, the best option will be to pruchase the hook (for about $25).

Regards,
