I know it's an old thread but someone else might come across it on a current search. Dealer said the motor was junk and wanted $700.00 to pull the oil pan to tell me what happened. I didn't need to put any more into it. I had just bought it 3 weeks earlier from a dealership after talking to original owner and reviewing regular oil change record on CarFax. The dealer I bought it from agreed to pay for some parts and for all labor. In went the Jasper. I don't know what was found inside the old engine.

 

I think curiosity would have bit me on that one....... I would want to know why it failed...... With the engine out, dropping the pan shouldn't be all that expensive....... I hate mysteries.
